Gingerbread is a Family Affair

We love making Faboo Gingerbread Houses as part of our family activities during the holiday season.
Our Mom cherishes the tradition and teaches the kids a new technique every year. Each house reflects the love & time our Mom spends with each of us.
This year we were excited to enter our houses into the 2010 Hendersonville HolidayFest Gingerbread Competition to support local charities.
CandyConnection (formerly Candylicious) at the Streets of Indian Lake was a sponsor of the contest & we LOVE CandyConnection!
Often when making a unique cake we need unique candy and CandyConnection is our favorite place to shop for candy.
If you have not been to CandyConnection you have to stop by!
Or check them out online www.ilovecandyconnection.com
You will be transported back to childhood & find some fun goodies for the whole family. Please tell them we said Hi!
Jessica, Megan & Joshua each entered a house & won a ribbon! 1st, 2nd & 3rd place respectively in the Kids Category.
Here they are picking up their prizes (I added the hats with photo editing.....don't you think they will thank me? Probably not, but they are oh so cute!):
Merry Christmas Everyone!
Faboo Cakes also entered a house in the Professional category & we won First Place!
Our 2 story house had a dog house & it lit up on the inside:
A view from the back.....
A snowman & brick path home....
All of the houses were auctioned off to raise money for local charities at the St. Nicholas Ball.
We love knowing they have good homes & helped local families in need.
The holiday season has officially started for our family.
Next year will you join us in the fun?
Start thinking about your gingerbread design for the 2011 HolidayFest!
Merry Christmas from our family to yours!
